Dear Business Owner,
We know that COVID-19 has asked a lot of small businesses.
The City of Barrie wants to make sure that our local businesses are connected to the supports they need. If you are a small business, we want you to know what funding resources are available to you; if you know a small business, please consider forwarding them this information.
The City of Barrie’s website contains comprehensive financial assistance details at http://www.barrie.ca/supportforbusiness.
Some specific programs to highlight:
Lockdown Support allows qualifying organizations that have been significantly restricted by a mandatory public health order to receive an additional 25% of rent support. This means that hard-hit businesses, non-profits and charities subject to a lockdown could receive rent support of up to 90%. The rent subsidy and Lockdown Support are available until June 2021. Apply here.
The Ontario Small Business Support Grant provides eligible businesses with funding between $10,000 to $20,000 to help cover decreased revenue expected as a result of the Provincewide Shutdown. It’s easy to apply and takes less than 15 minutes. Businesses can find out if they are eligible here. Through this quick and easy application, businesses may also be able to access supports for PPE, property tax rebates and energy cost rebates.
Barrie’s Small Business Centre team is available to help guide businesses through support program options and can be contacted by phone at 705-720-2445 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please feel free reach out. The Small Business Centre is here to help.
